Melissa, an animal lover since childhood, moved to Arizona six years ago and discovered her passion for working with Clydesdales. She dreamed of owning a horse and fulfilled this dream in March of 2025 when she welcomed Caliber, a Friesian/Quarter Horse cross. In October of 2024, Melissa found Wild Hooves Open Hearts and fell in love with Sampson and Q. During this time she learned all about their mission, worked hard and supported their mission. She was then asked to be on the Board of Directors as their Secretary in September of 2025.  Melissa's journey then led her to become an Equus Coach through The Center for Equus Coaching, which she puts her whole heart an soul into.
